We are seeking Orthoptists to undertake the role of Visitor

Why are HCPC seeking Visitors?

Tracey Samuel-Smith, HCPC Education Manager explains ‘Visitors are responsible for visiting and assessing existing and proposed education and training programmes delivered by education providers.

Visitors make a real difference to the work we do. There is the opportunity to get involved and help to safeguard people using our registrant’s services by ensuring education and training programmes meet our standards. Visitors also provide recommendations to the HCPC’s Education & Training Committee regarding the approval or on-going approval of programmes.

Visitors undertake work for approximately five to ten days a year and a visit normally takes two days and there are monitoring responsibilities’.

To become a Visitor you must to be on our Register. You must have an understanding of Quality Assurance in Higher/Further Education or a clinical environment, and also teaching and learning and assessment in educational/clinical environments. You will also need to have excellent oral and written communication skills.

We pay a rate of £202.00 per day and £81 for a review. Any travel and accommodation expenses are paid accordance with the HCPC Expenses Policy.

If you are successful, you will be required to attend a mandatory training session prior to commencing your role.
